Modern Slavery Statement
SILC Global is an importer and wholesaler of furniture and household products in Australia. SILC Global recognises the responsibility it has, along with its supply partners, to operate in an ethical manner. As part of this responsibility, we acknowledge the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act of 2015. Therefore, SILC Global is working to ensure that there is sufficient transparency both within our organisation as well as our supply partners. In relation to its supply partners, SILC Global has updated the Service Agreements that it has with its major suppliers to include a reference requiring compliance with our Modern-Day Slavery Statement. Our supply partners appraisal process has been updated to consider these changes.
SILC Global recognises its own team have an important role to play in managing our Statement and we encourage all staff to show ongoing awareness of our requirements and report any instances where they feel our Statement has been breached. Should any possible breaches arise, SILC Global will instigate an immediate investigation into the possible breach and identity the nature, size and solution to this possible breach. SILC Global wants all its customers to be confident that both SILC and its supply partners treat their employees fairly with respect all human rights. SILC Global will not work with any organisation that either has or is found to knowingly be involved with either human trafficking or modern slavery. Modern slavery includes, but not limited to forced labour, child labour, labour exploitation, bonded labour or debt labour and unlawful recruitment. In the event we suspect a failure by a supplier to comply with our Modern-Day Slavery Statement, we will investigate and require, where appropriate, immediate correct action which may include terminating our relationship.
The SILC Global Modern Day Slavery Statement has been sanctioned and approved by the Board Of Directors and will be subject to ongoing reviews to ensure compliance and sustainability.
